Wire EDM

Wire EDM, or wire electrical discharge machining, is a machining process where material from a piece with electricity as opposed to a cutting tool. A large discharge of electricity is focused in one spot of a part where it will remove material without having a tool physically touch the part. This unconventional method of production allows parts to be machined that would otherwise be very difficult to produce. Hard materials that are too tough for traditional machining methods can be cut with wire EDM, as well as very soft and fragile materials or parts since there is no force used against the part.  Most wire EDM does not require any tooling or dies, so the process is well suited for our customers looking for a non-traditional part that other manufacturers cannot produce.
